Fruity
On one of our endless trawls of the internet to see what’s going on in the world of design we found this, truly inspiring
Jazz – nice
Well it’s been a little while since we last shared some music with you but thanks to Jamie this mix of jazz flute, house piano and a soul candy beat needs checking out. The M&S Sure Shock vocal mix of So Sweetly featuring Sean Eccoffery isn’t one you’ll pick up on i-tunes, so let that jazz flute lift ya!
OTC awards
The Seven Seas UK pharmacy support programme, designed and produced by Ewens has been nominated for an OTC award for ‘Best OTC Pharmacy Support Package’. Now in their 17th year, OTC bulletin’s prestigious OTC Marketing Awards recognise the achievements of the British OTC industry. These unique Awards focus exclusively and entirely on suppliers of OTC products – non-prescription medicines, food supplements and selected unlicensed healthcare products.
CIPR’ed again
Our work has once again been shortlisted in the Northwest CIPR awards (which if you didn’t notice we won last year but we prefer not to talk about it). It’s Mersey Care’s Annual Report which we hope everyone likes as much as the last one.
Getting High
All work and no play can make Jack a dull boy, so we believe it’s time well spent to have a little laugh, if you agree check this out, it must have taken ages to edit all the audio clips but the end result is well worth it.
Goldfish
Well it’s time for a bit of music update, so our tune of the month comes from Goldfish, not a new album but if you’ve not checked it out, you’re missing out
Danny MacAskill
‘Way Back Home’ We’re maybe a bit long in the tooth for a BMX, but this film produced by Red Bull of Danny MacAskill’s journey is amazing whatever age you are. Good music too.
Pam Glew
It seems to be all bright in Brighton, first my recent music choice of Belleruche and now an artist with a difference – Pam Glew. Using bleach and vintage jeans and flags, she creates wonderful images that are eye catching, fresh, full of excitement and take you wondering – where does Pam get all those jeans from? Pam’s work can be seen hanging on our studio wall (yes we liked it so much we bought it) and exhibited alongside artists from Banksy to HRH the Prince of Wales as well... Read The Rest →
Belleruche
The things around us that influence creativity are so important, and we at ewens like our music so that’s why I want to tell you about a band we went to see recently called Belleruche The band are a three piece from Brighton who deliver an ultra cool mix of experimental hip hop and soul with unique vocals. Described as ‘Like Sarah Vaughan, Charlie Christian and Cut Chemist stuck in a dusty second hand record store with wine and a sampler, Belleruche make turntable soul music’. They’re not main stream... Read The Rest →
Jaume Plensa
I’m a big fan of sculpture and on a recent visit to the Yorkshire Sculpture Park (take yourself and your kids if you have them, it’s proper good for you) had a look at the exhibition by Jaume Plensa. This Catalan artist does some lovely and inspired work that will leave your mouth agape, and if you live anywhere within a 100 miles of YSP you have no excuse not to go and see this, it’s even free, how good it that? www.jaumeplensa.com www.ysp.co.uk
